MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER MEETING
The meeting was held on September 12, 2009 at Bad Woman Yarn in Wallingford Center. In attendance were: Justine Ozaki,
Arlene Balcuinas, Sandi Dedrick, Jean Becker, Darlene pearsall, Carrie Pearsall, Tamara Bacus, Jaime Shure, Toby Harris, Carmella
Patterson, Sherry Evard, Josie Addington and Lidia Leidloff attended as our guest.
Justine, as President, led the meeting.
Announcements/New Business
October is traditionally the Guild's "Mad Hatter" tea party. Since space is limited at Bad Woman, Justine suggested that
no everyone bring treats to the October meeting. As a footnote to the Minutes, please let either Justine or Josie know by
email or group post if you intend to bring a treat.
Vet Scarves: We have tentatively set a date to deliver the scarves: October 24, 2009. Justine will let us know whether
or not the date is firm.
September Workshop
Jean led the workshop on how to read charts. We worked on a simple square piece and moved on to a more complicated circular
piece. The handout was a pattern for a scarf and what appears to be a round doily (that this crocheter will be making).
Show -n- Tell:
From the many talented folks in the group, we saw the following:
Tamara: a beautiful yellow shell topper made with Luster Sheen and several beautiful doilies, including a filet table runner
that is her current WIP. The table runner was a pattern from a book entitled 150 Favorite Crochet Designs which is
a compilation by Mary Carolyn Waldrop and published by Dover needlework Series.
Darlene showed us her cable scarf from a pattern she altered as her own.
Sherry showed us a lovely scrap afghan WIP using a pattern from Lean to Crochet (In Just One Day) published by Leisure
Arts.
Carrie shared her WIP capelet.
