MINUTES OF MAY MEETING
The meeting was held on May 9, 2009 at Bad Woman Yarn in Wallingford Center. In attendance were: Arlene Balcuinas, Carmella
Patterson, Deborah Herrmann, Darlene Pearsall, Carrie Pearsall, Mary Ferrari, Linda Yaw, Toby Harris, Jaime Shure, Jan Ives,
Jean Becker, Tamara Bacus and Josie Addington.
Justine, as President, led the meeting.
May Workshop
The May workshop was a beaded crochet bracelet. This workshop required some prestringing of the beads on size 5 thread.
What good students we were to have had it done. Justine led the workshop. Some of us were actually able to complete the bracelets
and Tamara shared a similar version done with slip stitches instead of single crochet. It was interesting to see the color
schemes everyone used for their bracelets.
To finish off, Justine showed two options: to join the ends producing a seamless bracelet or add a clasp of sorts to the
ends.
Show -n- Tell:
Tamara brought back her beaded bracelets to show us another version using a similar technique.
Next month’s workshop will be fun fur (or embellished) flip-flops and barefoot sandals.
