October 22, 2006
Justine led our meeting. In attendance: Josie Addington, Carmella Patterson, Mary Ferrari, Nancy Peterson, and Justine
Ozaki. Guests: Marcia Butchart and Edith Husky; who will be joining our group.
Old Business
December 3rd meeting; This will be our holiday party and bring patterns to share for quick “make it and take it”
gifts. This event will be at Linda’s home starting at 2 PM, with a potluck dinner later that evening. Patterns requested
were Marcia’s star potholder, towel toppers and the daisy chain scarf.
Linda is treasurer till elections at the Dec meeting. We will elect our officers in Dec for 2007. Please consider running
for an office. We will elect President, Treasurer and Secretary. Currently Linda Yew is President/Treasurer and Justine
is Secretary.
New Business
Calendar of Events:
October 28th: Knit Out Crochet 2006 at SpinKnitters in Country Village, Bothell (425) 806-8129. Noon to4 PM, make n’
takes and treats. Bring some of your finished objects to show off. Come party with us!
January 21st: Marcia graciously volunteered to teach us the star shawl. This is a pattern she developed from an afghan stitch
and will share with us. Material lists will come out early January so you have plenty of time to choose your materials.
February 18th: Carmella requested that our workshop be that beautiful scarf featured in Interweave Crochet! Justine agreed
to teach the workshop.
Today’s workshop was making Claire’s turkeys, pumpkin basket or the magic potholder. There were some very cute
pumpkins that left with other things in progress.
We all enjoyed the trunk show at the Fiber Gallery of the current issue of Interweave Crochet magazine fashions. What a difference
seeing them in person. The yarn colors were amazing. The Fiber Gallery did carry all the yarns featured in the magazine.
Announcements
Thursday nights at the Fiber Gallery they have a drop in session for $5. You can get help on any problem or learn a new technique.
