MINUTES OF MARCH MEETING
March 26, 2006
No formal meeting.
Linda was absent. In attendance: Josie Addington, Jean Becker,
Jan Ives, Carmella Patterson, Justine Ozaki, Rita Stockwell, Merrily Clark, Ruth Salama and Nancy Peterson. Welcome to our visitors: Merrily and Ruth.
Old Business
The Wooley Monkey
is closing. We have been invited to hold our future meetings at the Fiber Gallery. We all agreed it was an excellent location at our current membership size. Thank you Fiber Gallery for
allowing us to use your space.
Dues were collected by Justine from Nancy, Jan and Carmella.
Workshop on
chemo hats by Justine. The Fiber Gallery had all required materials. Also we
finished up our bracelets. Please bring your finished items to the next meeting
for pictures to post on our website.
Announcements
The Seattle Knitting and Fiber Arts Expo is April 28-30th at
the Seattle Marriott Hotel at Seatac. Lily Chin is one of the instructors. She is doing a half day class on crochet tips and hints. Course fee is $45. You can get all the info on various crochet class at www.seattleknittingexpo.com
A new Interweave Crochet magazine is now out for Spring 2006. Many wonderful projects to think about. I think at least half of us
bought the magazine on Sunday.
The
Fiber Gallery is having their 2nd anniversary sale – up to 40% off clearance items and 20% off every
yarn in the store on April 22 and 23rd. You might want to come to the
meeting early Sunday to do a little shopping!
Next meeting is April 23rd from 2-4 PM. Jean showed
us her samples of lace scarf, belts and a necklace. Jean then volunteered to do
a lace workshop with info on making a summer belt or scarf. Materials – cotton crochet
thread size 3 Royale, Senso or anything similar. The Fiber Gallery does not
carry thread. Hook size E, F or to taste.
Thursday nights
at the Fiber Gallery they have a drop in session for $5. You can get help on any problem
or learn a new technique.
