3rd meeting – This will be our holiday party. Please bring patterns to share for quick “make
it and take it” gifts. This event will be at Linda’s home starting at 2 PM. We decided on
Our workshop for August was to continue working on the
bag we started last month. Josie and Linda brought their completed bags. Linda had started a second one and was dreaming about her third. Justine forgot her camera,
so we will have pictures to share at a later date.
This was Claire’s last meeting. Claire is moving to Iowa sometime soon. We will all miss her creative
inspirations and her friendship. Linda will take over being treasurer till elections
at the Dec meeting. We will elect our officers in Dec for 2007.
Linda noticed in the Fiber Gallery newsletter they said we were meeting the 4th Sunday
of each month. We
decided to go back to the 4th Sunday. The only meeting that will
affect this year is the October meeting.
Justine showed us the star afghan that the Crochet Guild of Puget Sound
had as their summer workshop. She told us that Marcia Butchart volunteered to teach
a cape pattern off this idea at one of our meetings in 2007. Everyone agreed they would
like to learn the afghan or cape.
The Crochet Guild of Puget Sound invites us to attend their September
meeting. Designer Joy Prescott will be teaching how to crochet trim/sleeves onto a purchased tee-shirt. (Yes, you
cut off parts of the tee and add crochet.) See her published pattern in the current issue of Crochet! magazine. The meeting will be September 18th, 6-8 PM at the Crossroads Shopping
Center, Bellevue. Meetings are held in the community meeting room which is next to the security office across from Hallmark
Thursday nights at the Fiber Gallery they have a drop
in session for $5. You can get help on any problem or learn a new technique.
